Reporting to the Senior Outreach Program Manager (Local Programs), the Assistant Outreach Program Manager's primary role is to work on programs and projects that support CS Pathways' efforts to create more equitable pathways for all students to study computer science. The incumbent will support the work of colleagues in the CS Pathways Office to aid in fulfilling that mission. Examples of some of our programs may be found on our website: www.cs.cmu.edu/cs-pathways

Core responsibilities will include:
  • Assist with the delivery of programs under the direction of the CS Pathways Executive Director or a Program Director, complete assigned tasks related to the successful delivery of a program
  • Identifying communities that CS Pathways can partner with in the greater Pittsburgh region and building authentic relationships with community partners
  • Managing event or program logistics
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to review and implement curriculum
  • Co-training STEM Ambassadors on provided curriculum prior to program start
  • Visiting local partner sites to learn about their needs and gather feedback for program improvement
  • Helping with data collection and evaluation
  • Act as an ambassador for CS Pathways in the community as appropriate. This may include: attending college fairs, attending in-school and out-of-school career events
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Deep understanding of youth development programming
  • Strong interpersonal skills with young adults and children
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Conflict management skills
  • Strong orientation to detail
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and implementing project plans
  • Passion for increasing educational access, especially to computer science
  • Public speaking/facilitation skills
Requirements:
  • Successful background check
  • Ability to obtain Pennsylvania Act 153 clearances
