Job Description Summary

The Department of Computer Science at Wake Forest University is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin July 2025. Successful candidates should have a demonstrated potential for a strong research program in their areas of interest and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education as well as student engagement.

Job Description:

The Department is seeking exceptional candidates with teaching competency in systems or algorithms. Preference will be given to candidates whose research complements and strengthens existing areas of expertise within the Department, which includes high performance computing, security, machine learning, computational biology/biomedical informatics, and computer vision and imaging.

Applicants should have completed a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Candidates should be able to develop a visible, externally funded research program that expands the Department's research expertise or synergistically supports current research groups, within a setting that values high-quality teaching and mentorship of both undergraduate and graduate students. The typical teaching load is a total of four courses (2+2) each academic year.

The Department prides itself on engaging students in and out of the classroom, providing rich opportunities for students to work closely with faculty members in their scholarship, and is highly supportive of interdisciplinary research.

There are currently fourteen full-time faculty members, approximately 160 declared majors and minors, and fifteen Masters-level graduate students within the Department. Additional information about the Department is available at: http://college.wfu.edu/cs
