Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $62,300 - Midpoint: $81,000 (Salaried E10)

Department/Organization: 218101 - Dean's Office-School of Law

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:45 pm; some nights & weekends required

Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Law School Career Services provides comprehensive legal career counseling and employment services to current students and alumni. Participates in educational programs for current students. Assist in the administration of Career Services Offices On-Campus Interviewing, mock interviews, practice panels, and job search skills workshops. Assists in marketing efforts for legal employers.

Additional Department Summary: Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Law School Career Services, the Assistant Director will provide comprehensive counseling and advising to current law students and alumni, particularly in the area of public interest and government practices. In addition to other duties, the Assistant Director will also oversee the the Public Interest and Government Externship Program, plan the Public Interest Career Fair, and coordinate other student support efforts with the Public Interest Institute at the Law School.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and two (2) years of student career advising or legal experience; OR Juris Doctorate and admission in good standing to the bar of any state in the U.S.

Skills and Knowledge: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of web-based research, including Martindale-Hubbell, state bar directories, the NALP directory, and general internet searches. Prior knowledge of, or the ability to master the CSO's web-based career management system, 12Twenty.

Preferred Qualifications: JD preferred.
