Description

We are seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer who will bring technical expertise in defining project scopes, estimating costs, and conducting comparative analyses of proposals for the design, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of high-voltage transmission lines and substations (69 kV+).

Our ideal Senior Transmission Engineer will have a solid background in high-voltage transmission line and substation design, construction, and/or maintenance, along with the following qualifications some techincal training, or higher, in one of several engineering disciplines, or completion of electrical technical schooling, or journeyman certification, or a related field.

After one year in the role, your success will be demonstrated by your ability to:



  • Provide technical expertise on high-voltage transmission line and substation design during MISO's planning process, Competitive Transmission Process, and project implementation.
  • Develop into a subject matter expert in high-voltage transmission line and substation design, construction, and operations & maintenance.
  • Guide and manage consultants on project schedules and construction reviews related to proposals for the construction, ownership, and operation of transmission lines and substations.
  • Effectively articulate and communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
  • Lead projects, manage risks and organizational impacts, and engage with stakeholders across various forums.


Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

Technical/other training of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (required)
Bachelors of Engineering (required)
Experience
A Professional Engineer (PE) certification is highly preferred, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months. (required)
4 years: Experience in the energy industry. (required)
