Position title: Pediatric Nephrology Salary range:
The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $170,000 - $250,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology is seeking to recruit pediatric nephrologists or physician-scientists at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to join a group of 7 faculty members. RCHSD, a top ten US News & World Report ranked Children's Hospital, houses the Comprehensive Kidney Care Center. The center provides a full spectrum of services, including general nephrology, transplant, and dialysis clinics and a five-station pediatric dialysis unit. Activities include shared care for 15-25 chronic hemo- and peritoneal dialysis patients and 10-15 kidney transplant recipients per year, as well as CRRT and apheresis programs. Beyond the main RCHSD campus, we also provide consultative services at the UCSD NICU at Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla, Sharp Mary Birch, Kaiser-Permanente, and Rady satellite clinics in northern San Diego County and Riverside County. The Division of Nephrology has been consistently ranked in the top 30 in the Nation by the US News and World Report and most recently ranked 13th. As clinical faculty, the successful candidates will be expected to serve as attendings in the outpatient clinic and on the inpatient Nephrology service. The successful candidates will also be expected to supervise and mentor pediatric residents, fellows, and medical students in nephrology-related clinical and academic activities. In addition, the successful candidates will be expected to actively participate in scholarly and research endeavors, contributing to the department's academic mission. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD in health-related fields Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
