Job Title: Applied Scientist

Location(s): Seattle, WA

Applied scientists are specialists with deep expertise in areas such as machine learning, speech recognition, natural language processing, computer vision, knowledge acquisition, etc. They apply scientific principles in their area of expertise and related fields to: (a) assess the feasibility and timeline of new initiatives requiring significant inventions, and (b) develop new algorithms or enhance existing algorithms for significantly improving the customer experience/impact. They are externally aware of the state-of-the-art in their respective field of expertise and are constantly focused on advancing the state-of-the-art for improving products and services.

Key Job Responsibilites:


  • As an Applied Scientist you will be expected to work on state-of-the-art technologies, with the opportunity to implement them and see how they behave in the field.
  • This is an incredible opportunity to leverage large multi modal models for real business scenarios and supported by an abundance of data.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse
  • Experience programming in Python.
  • Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning or equivalent quantitative field.
  • Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application.
  • Experience in LLM finetuning, testing, and prompt engineering.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior experience with AWS tools such as SageMaker, Lambda etc., and Pytorch/Keras/Tensorflow.
  • Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code.
  • PhD in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning or equivalent quantitative field.
