Staff Accountant

Acara Solutions is seeking a Staff Accountant for our client in Buffalo Grove, IL!

We are seeking qualified candidates with:

• Accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment!
• Proficiency in ERP systems & Microsoft Excel
• The ability to communicate and collaborate across all organizational levels

Here's what you'll do:

• General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and post journal entries for routine transactions, month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform regular account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and credit card statements.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to provide insights on financial performance.
• Audit Support: Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Assist with processing invoices, monitoring outstanding payments, and managing vendor accounts.
• Compliance: Ensure all accounting practices comply with company policies, tax regulations, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
• Expense Management: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Fixed Asset Management: Oversee and maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Sales Tax Management: Manage sales tax compliance, including accurate calculation, reporting and remittance of sales taxes in accordance with regulations.
• Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned, providing financial analysis and support to different departments.

Position Type: Direct Placement

Pay: Up to $80K/yr. **Depending on experience

Schedule: M-F 8:00AM-5:00PM **Remote!!!

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 2 years' accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years' experience working in ERP systems & Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience with SAGE.
• An understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
