Your role
As a Field Service Engineer, your mission is to install, analyze, troubleshoot, maintain and service Leybold vacuum pumps and related equipment (mechanical and electrical) in the field. You will also proactively promote increased sales of spare parts, service repairs, and other aftermarket services within your assigned geographical territory; specifically Export, Pennsylvania. You will report to the Field Service Supervisor.
You will
- Works closely with local account managers and service organization to increase sales of spare parts and aftermarket services of Leybold and Brand X products and helps to identify and penetrate new accounts within assigned regions
- Installs, analyzes, troubleshoots, maintains and services Leybold pumps and related equipment (mechanical and electrical) in the field.
- Able to achieve budget goals for sales of spares and aftermarket services.
- Supports new product qualifications and installations.
- Provides technical advice, assistance and product training to customers.
- Maintains relations between the customer and the organization on field service and aftermarket sales matters.
- Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs.
- In conjunction with sales, identifies areas for product improvement or needs for new products. Maintains historical log of site visits and writes trip reports and continues to follow-up on activities to ensure customers' needs have been satisfied.
- Assist Sales Channels in selling company's products & services by providing technical expertise to prospective and established customers.
- Increases employee's knowledge of Leybold products in effectively facilitating installation, start-up, and maintenance of related equipment
- Helps develop and train additional field service staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

You have 2+ years of experience, working as within field service and automative or mechanical repair assembly.
- Associate's Degree in a technical related field.
- Cryo or refrigeration experience are a plus. (e.g., vacuum systems, turbopumps, dry pumps, booster pumps, leak detectors, rotary vane pumps, vacuum gauges and cryo pumps).
- Ability to develop strong customer relationships & promote Aftermarket sales and service
- Working knowledge of electronics, electrical systems and mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency to respond to customer requirements.
- Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- Works independently with minimal supervision and is a self-starter.
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of personal computer environments (i.e. Microsoft office, etc.).
- Valid driver's license required.
- Successful candidate must submit an OSHA Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire and pass a pulmonary function test.
- Must be able to utilize a full face respirator.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within office building, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
This position could require frequent travel dependent upon home location and distance to customer sites within assigned region. Travel could be up to 50%, overnight, and or for multiple days
