A South Bay real estate firm is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, the balance sheet, statement of equity, cash flows, tie out the financials and presentations, and work with internal controls. What do you need for this Senior Accountant role?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 4-6+ years of public and private accounting experience
  • CPA or CPA candidate who is closing to becoming active
  • Real estate client or industry experience a huge plus
  • Advanced Excel
  • Experience supervising staff
What will you do in this Senior Accountant role?
  • Prepare and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Ensure all financial reporting regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to assist senior management in decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Design, implement, and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of internal control processes and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Supervise staff, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks such as general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and other regulatory standards in day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Oversee fixed assets, property accounting, and revenue recognition processes.
  • Manage the coordination of financial audits and provide audit support as required.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
