Job Summary: The Case Manager 2-BMC performs a variety of case management duties, thus assuring proper utilization providing maximum quality of patient care. Serves as a resource for staff in the area of Joint Commission standards and those of private utilization review agencies. Responsible for clinical evaluation and disposition of patients referred to the Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine C enter. Coordinates contact with the appropriate clinical, hospital and community resources. Coordinates with clinicians and hospital staff to facilitate hospital admissions. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Minimum one year of psychiatric, utilization review or quality assurance experience preferred.
Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing required. If hired prior to January 1, 2018, Bachelor's degree may be in progress, or, an Associate's Degree in nursing with a Bachelor's degree in another field and a Master's Degree in nursing required. If hired prior to January 1, 2018, Master's Degree may be in progress. Minimum of three years nursing experience in area of specialty in a facility with an equivalent patient acuity level required. Minimum of one year of prior management or supervisory experience preferred.

Good problem-solving skills with attention to details; ability to analyze and interpret data; requires analytical thinking skills accompanied by short and long-term memory; ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent usage of English language and grammar. Knowledge of psychotropic medications. Knowledge of appropriate age group(s). Knowledge of Joint Commission, C MS and private payor guidelines and regulations.
Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and survey process required. Licensures and Certifications: Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Basic life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required. Other certifications as outlined in the department Plan for Providing Care.
