We are searching for Solar & AI Innovation Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. The person in this role have responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of areas for investigation, development, and implementation of novel concepts. Technologies of interest include solar PV, battery storage, transmission and distribution, electric vehicles, utility-scale wind, and more.

Location: Juno Beach, FL

Duties & Responsibilities



  • Subject matter expert (SME) of innovation in assigned subject areas
  • Manage small to medium level projects without direct reports
  • Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders and provide data-driven recommendations
  • Maintain familiarity with industry and company progress and problems in assigned technical areas
  • Research, develop, and implement appropriate ML algorithms and tools to optimize the performance and design of renewable energy systems
  • Collaborate and lead with national and international industry subject matter experts
  • Engage with research community and technology developers to guide and inform technology development targets
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for problem solving, betterment opportunities, and systems integration
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned



Required Work Experience

Required expertise in one or more of the following areas:



  • Vetting and integrating AI applications
  • Data science and statistics



Recommended expertise



  • Utility solar photovoltaic and/or battery storage design
  • Proven analytical capabilities in one or more of the following areas:
  • Creating models, performing statistical analysis, and optimizing system performance
  • Designing and developing machine learning and deep learning systems
  • Shows maturity of technical expertise and assumes responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills



Educational Requirements

One of the following education and experience combinations:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field from an ABET accredited program



  • 5+ years of proven experience



Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field



  • 3+ year of proven experience



PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field (Preferred)



  • 0-2 year of proven experience
