Job Summary

UCSF Institute for Human Genetics is seeking a Staff Research Associate II (SRA II) to conduct research in the areas of CRISPR synthetic biology, functional genomics, gene regulation, and tissue biology.

The candidate will help develop CRISPR tools to turn genes on or off for fundamental discoveries that may pave the way for therapeutic development.

This individual will be part of a team that has recently developed cutting edge CRISPR tools for perturbing multiple genomic sites in the same cell in high throughput functional genomics experiments.

The individual will contribute to projects aimed at further developing the capabilities of these tools and their applications in engineering transcriptional regulation for fundamental understanding and in discoveries with therapeutic relevance in the areas of immune recognition of cancer and/or tissue regeneration.

This position will involve primarily experimental bench work, but computational skills such as data wrangling and visualization are valued as well and may be further developed in this position in molecular biology applications. The individual will also contribute to administrative support for the laboratory inventory management, maintenance and organization.
