Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an associate with 3-5 years of public finance experience to join the Finance Practice Group in our Chicago, Detroit, Houston, or Milwaukee office. Foley has a robust public finance practice, particularly in the areas of Healthcare Finance, Economic Development, Housing, TIF and Special Assessment, Infrastructure and Education. Our attorneys represent borrowers, issuers, financial institutions as underwriters and direct purchasers, and credit and liquidity providers on public finance transactions. The practice is very balanced among those focal points, with Foley having one of the top public finance practices in the country.

Qualified candidates must have mid-level bond counsel, lender's counsel, and disclosure counsel experience and will have experience working with state agencies, municipalities, and governmental entities. Our ideal candidate will have had significant exposure to, and basic understanding of, the principals of tax, securities, uniform commercial code, and contract law applicable to public finance. Law school course concentration on business law preferred. Strong drafting, analytical, organizational, and matter management skills are required. The ability to communicate effectively - orally and in writing, work efficiently under pressure, and meet deadlines is essential.

We have a thriving public finance practice and are seeking a well-rounded, resourceful, and highly motivated associate with strong academic credentials. The candidate should expect direct interaction with partners and clients and must have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and an exceptional work ethic.

To be considered, a candidate must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the bar of the jurisdiction(s) where the candidate is admitted to practice. Timely admission to the bar coinciding with the office of hire will be a condition of employment.
