Sr. Privacy and Compliance Analyst

Reporting to the Manager, Compliance and Privacy, the Compliance and Privacy Analyst Senior ("Senior Analyst") contributes to the achievement of corporate compliance and privacy programs including investigations, corrective action, policy development, monitoring and education. The Senior Analyst collaborates with others to prepare internal reports, presentations and respond to external inquiries.

  • Position: Sr. Privacy and Compliance Analyst

  • Location: Warrenville, IL

  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, during normal business hours

  • Required Travel: travel to other Endeavor Health locations may be required

What you will do:

  • Conducts timely investigations of reported potential privacy and compliance incidents. These incidents may be reported through RL6, the Corporate Compliance Hotline, the Data Loss Prevention tool or other means.

  • Develops a proposed plan for each assigned investigation, monitoring activity (includes rounds) and audit which is reviewed with leadership. The plan may include data gathering, running reports, using monitoring software (e.g., FairWarning, conflict of interest disclosure software, sanctions checking, etc.), analyses, interviews, risk assessments, phone calls, meetings with involved parties and assessments of the incident or situation.

  • Works with leadership to formulate recommendations for corrective action.

  • Writes reports summarizing the results of the plan, identified risk and recommended corrective action.

  • Communicates necessary corrective action and follows up to ensure the corrective action has been implemented.

  • Effectively communicates with patients and employees by phone and in writing

  • Manages, under the direction of the Manager, Compliance and Privacy, the breach letter notification process including drafting the breach letter notification letters and attestations.

  • Develops monthly privacy and security reminders for the workforce including independent members of the medical staff.

  • Monitors case load with Privacy and Compliance leadership. Timely notifies immediate supervisor of obstacles to completing work and issues identified during investigations and audits.

  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards, and monitors advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adoption.

  • Provides support to the Director and Managers in meeting federal and state reporting requirements, including the Office for Civil Rights, regarding breach notification and follow-up investigations.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree, required

  • Certification: one of the following, required

    • CHPC (Certified Healthcare Privacy Compliance)

    • RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)

    • CHC (Certified Healthcare Compliance)

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in the Compliance and/or Privacy Department

  • Unique or Preferred Skills:

    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills - Word, PowerPoint and Excel

    • Ability to learn new software tools

    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

    • Knowledge of and experience with healthcare compliance laws and regulations (HIPAA/HITECH, Stark, Anti-kickback, EMTALA, etc.)

    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Time management and organizational skills
