Position Description
This position will be responsible for execution of the business and departmental strategies and processes including supervision of Contracts Administration personnel engaged in the preparation of proposals, negotiation of contracts, and administration of commercial and government contacts.
This position is responsible for developing and training the personnel in the department.
Essential Functions
- Provide day-to-day supervision and direction to assigned Contracts Administration personnel executing responsibilities in contract administration. Contracts department responsibilities include, but are not limited to, management of contractual and other agreements, coordination of proposals, customer relationship management, and record keeping of communications and documents.
- Supervise and assist (as required) the negotiation of all assigned proposals for contractual language.
- Review bids, request for proposals, specifications, and requirements for consistency and accuracy
- Recommend and implement specific course of action to be taken to satisfy customer inquiries regarding contract requirements.
- Monitor customer provided metrics as well as internal metrics to ensure alignment. Coordinate metric reviews with customer as required to ensure actual performance is accurately displayed in customer metrics.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with customer contacts. Learn customer programs and applications and look for opportunities to encourage additional sales.
- Maintain complete and accurate files to facilitate internal administration and audits.
- Evaluate team member responsibilities, processes, and tasks for recommended improvements towards a leaner and more efficient workflow.
- Provide coverage for customer accounts as required for team member PTO or unusually heavy workloads
- Lead Contracts team on execution of assigned tasks related to strategic and functional initiatives.
- Act as leader and mentor to develop core talent on the team and monitor compliance to processes.

Education & Experience
- BA/BS required, Business, Law, Accounting, Communications, Marketing preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in customer service, contracts management, order management, or similar areas of responsibility required.
- 2-3 years progressive leadership experience and/or project management required.
- Previous experience managing others preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Knowledge of US Government contract administration including all FAR and DFAR regulations required.
- Knowledge of US Export Control Regulations including ITAR and EAR compliance
- Prior experience with contracts, legal terminology, and negotiation required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available
- Must have the ability to work on government contracts
- Travel required up to 25%
