What You Will Do:

Reporting to the Director of Freshman Enrollment, the Associate Director of Enrollment is responsible for consistent and above standards personal production in enrollment of students and the mentoring and supervising a team of Enrollment Specialist as assigned by the Director of Enrollment. The Associate Director will manage their own territory of assigned schools, conduct high school visits, collect interest inquiries, enroll and follow up with students, interact with key partnerships, and build relationships with key high school administrators and counselors. They will also participate in maintaining the overall mission and strategic plan of the High School Enrollment Team while managing, training, coaching, and troubleshooting any enrollment issues to ensure enrollment objectives are achieved. This position will be assigned to oversee either our Chicago territories or our suburban activities as related to High Schools, but could be adjusted based on the needs of the team.



Essential Responsibilities

    Maintains a leadership role in personal productivity by handling prospects efficiently and professionally, effectively responding to any potential students' concerns and promoting the benefits of an NLU education for various academic programs. This includes front end activity in managing inquiries as well as back end activities to manage start rate.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Enrollment to implement the strategic and tactical plan for the recruiting high school seniors for the freshman class, including high school account management and partnership development. Supervises and oversees enrollment activities for a group of Enrollment Specialists and ensures appropriate campus and queue coverage of daily hours of operation and shared ownership of calendar and activity management in order to achieve enrollment goals.
  • In coordination with the Director of Enrollment, handles supervisory responsibilities to include: managing and mentoring a group of Enrollment Specialists to include high school recruitment activities, managing pipeline from inquiry to start, call volume, conversion rates, quarterly evaluation of recruitment skills and weekly touch-points with their assigned ADE teams as well as individually
  • In coordination with the Director of Enrollment, ensures proper training of all enrollment specialists on the team. Frequently presents training topics to the immediate team as well as the broader NLU enrollment team.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Enrollment, escalates any and all issues/opportunities that impact the ability to manage quantitative data, monitor lead equity, lead assignment groups, utilize appropriate reports to ensure daily and weekly metrics are met, etc.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Enrollment, identify improvement; opportunities for individuals and participate in documentation and execution of performance improvement plans.
  • Meets acceptable standards for personal productivity by handling prospects efficiently and professionally, effectively responding to any potential students' concerns and promoting the benefits of an NLU education for various academic programs. This includes front end activity in managing inquiries as well as back end activities to manage start rate.
  • Take a leadership role for all event planning and execution.
  • Works collaboratively with the University community to ensure a seamless and positive enrollment experience derived from the institution's mission, vision, and values.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Minimum of 3 years in Enrollment / Admissions or other relevant experience in sales or account management.
  • Takes action to ensure that employees fully understand their roles, responsibilities and performance standards/expectations and provides ongoing feedback and support as employees strive to achieve expectations. Direct supervision of 3 to 4 enrollment specialists, depending on team size, includes 1:1 activity and accountability meetings, bi-annual reviews, action plans for training and improvement, interview observations, and providing motivation and inspiration
  • Proven comprehensive quantitative and qualitative understanding of Enrollment Management is necessary
  • Strong database management skills, working ability to navigate a CRM system (ie Salesforce) and SIS (ie Banner)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience leading people or coaching others to achieve goals
  • Handles multiple assignments and priorities yet still fulfills all commitments. Readily accepts new responsibilities and adapts well to changes in procedures. Gives appropriate priorities to various work demands
  • Shows genuine sensitivity to the needs, feelings and capabilities of other people. Deals with others in a pleasant manner. Treats others with respect and consideration
  • Personally demonstrates that external (or internal) customers are a high priority. Identifies customer needs and expectations and responds to them in a timely and effective manner. Anticipates and prevents delays or other things that can adversely affect the customer. Keeps customers informed about the status of pending actions and inquires about customer satisfaction with products or services.
