Position Summary The University of New Mexico, Department of Emergency Medicine, is seeking full-time physician faculty members. In addition to supporting our EM residency program, members will provide clinical care in both our academic and community hospital facilities. Based on their interest and experience, they will also support our educational, research or community engagement missions. The Department of Emergency Medicine has 88 full-time and part-time attending physicians. We provide classroom and clinical education for the EMS Academy, as well as medical, pharmacy, and PA students. Our physician training programs have excellent national reputations and include our EM residency and fellowships in Pediatric EM, EMS, Ultrasound, Wilderness, Sports Medicine, and Medical Education. We have identified need in academic areas of expertise in PEM, EMS, Informatics, Simulation, Ultrasound, Quality and Operations. UNM Hospital is New Mexico's only Level I Trauma Center, the only Children's Hospital, and the state's first Comprehensive Stroke Center. UNM Health System providers specialize in over 150 areas and receive 900,000 outpatient visits, 22,000 surgical cases and 100,000 emergency room visits each year.
