Major Duties

Classification: Exempt, Non-Bargaining

Consolidated Communications is seeking a skilled Dynatrace Architect to join our IT operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, configuring, and optimizing our Dynatrace monitoring environment to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our applications and infrastructure. You will work closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to implement monitoring solutions and provide actionable insights for improving system performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Dynatrace Environment Management: Oversee the Dynatrace monitoring platform using best practices. Deploy, configure, and manage Dynatrace monitoring tools across various environments (development, testing, production).
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert and technical lead on all Dynatrace APM efforts
  • Monitoring Setup and Configuration: Design, implement, and maintain monitoring solutions for applications, servers, databases, and other infrastructure components using Dynatrace. Deploy Dynatrace monitoring agents across various environments (e.g., on-premises, cloud, hybrid), configure monitoring settings, and manage environments effectively.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze monitoring data to identify performance bottlenecks, optimize system performance, and enhance overall application and infrastructure reliability.
  • Alerting and Incident Management: Configure alerting thresholds and notifications based on performance metrics and manage incidents related to performance and availability issues.
  • Dashboard and Report Creation: Develop custom dashboards, reports, and visualizations in Dynatrace to provide insights into system performance and health.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues, provide recommendations, and ensure smooth operation of monitoring tools.
  • Automation and Scripting: Automate monitoring tasks and processes using scripts and APIs to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Integrate Dynatrace with other tools and platforms to enhance monitoring capabilities and streamline workflows
  • Best Practices and Documentation: Define and implement best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting. Create documentation and knowledge base articles for monitoring configurations and procedures.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Dynatrace Administrator or similar role in a large-scale IT environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Dynatrace APM (Application Performance Monitoring), including setup, configuration, and optimization. Familiarity with Dynatrace's AI-driven analytics capabilities, and Dynatrace extensions and plugins.
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, databases, etc.) and their interactions.
  • Experience in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for monitoring tasks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Dynatrace certification (e.g., Dynatrace Expert Certification, Dynatrace Certified Master)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, version control, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices and methodologies.

Salary

Pay range (commensurate with skills and experience): $61,486 - $110,000
