Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated part-time Research Assistant to join our team, open exclusively to undergraduate students enrolled at the University of New Mexico (UNM) with a background in biology or chemistry. This position requires a commitment of 8 hours per week, spread over two days (flexible scheduling available).

- Assist in ongoing lab research by preparing standard laboratory reagents such as buffers, media, and LB plates.

- Clean and organize plasticware and glassware for laboratory use.

- Monitor and maintain lab equipment to ensure smooth daily operations.

- Conduct cell biology and molecular biology experiments under supervision (training provided).


Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

- Must be currently enrolled in a UNM undergraduate program, with a focus in biology, chemistry, or a related field.

- Previous experience in a wet lab setting is a plus but not mandatory.

- Strong commitment to assigned working hours and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
