Overview

The Executive Director of Service Line Strategy will support key system leaders with the development and implementation of key growth service lines. This role will lead or participate in all aspects of the service line analysis, partnership, and implementation and will lead any additional roles needed to manage the program or implement the services.


Responsibilities

Strategy and Business Development

* Partners with CMO, Analytics, Finance, and other related teams to develops measurement and evaluation tools to monitor system service line performance, determine new opportunities, and recommend strategic priorities

* Support CMO, VP Strategy and Business Development, COOs, CAO, and Market Presidents with the implementation of key growth service lines.

* Maintains the Service Line implementation plans

* Lead key service line related projects from concept to execution

* Lead project and program management of key service line strategies

* Act as leadership level support for key service line leaders.

* Assesses effectiveness of current services and supports the expansion or development of new product lines, services, or innovations that are consistent with UnityPoint's strategy.

* Provides subject matter expertise and leadership related to strategies and methodologies that improve the effectiveness of strategic planning and business development for key service lines

* Translates service line priorities into a comprehensive strategic plan with actionable initiatives; and oversees and provides guidance to strategic planning implementation

* Develops and sustains, in collaboration with Clinical leadership, service line development frameworks to guide market level planning.

* Supports key service line leaders as needed with toolkits and playbooks for deployment of service line strategies.

* Partners with CMO on the development of optimal market level service line configuration and operating structure.

* Develops and maintains strong relationships with clinical and operations service line executives.

* Collaborates and consults as it relates to service lines, product lines, and other healthcare industry areas.

* Lead and partner on key analyses related to placement of services to inform senior level discussions

Regulatory, Industry, and Organizational Monitoring

* Maintain expert level knowledge of changing trends within the healthcare industry, specifically related to service lines

* Maintain knowledge of legislation, payor shifts, and consumer behavior changes and how they impact key service lines

* Continuously monitor best practices and strategic moves made by disruptors or other reputable healthcare organizations

Basic UPH Performance Criteria

* Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

* Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.

* Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

* Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

* Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.

* Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business or related discipline required

Master's in healthcare administration, Master's in business administration, or other healthcare related degree.

Minimum 5 years' experience in healthcare
