Job title: Maintenance Technician BG/BU: AFNA - Amcor Flexibles North America Location: Yuba City Job family: Maintenance Reports to (Title): Maintenance Manager 1. Job Overview A Maintenance Technician installs, tests, repairs, and maintains plant production machinery, support equipment, building, and other systems throughout the site to maintain optimum operating conditions and plant productivity. Maintenance Technician also assists with related upgrades, improvements, and assigned projects as required. Responsibility for inventory control over maintenance and warehouse items as well all other supplies used in the plant. (Bags, cartons, raw material, finished goods, production storage locations, labels, pallets, tape, etc.). 2. Job Dimensions *Responsibility for inventory control for maintenance spare parts and all maintenance min/max supplies used in the plant. * Creates purchase request for warehouse items, production supplies, and maintenance parts as needed. * Procuring parts for maintenance projects and repairs. Including assigning parts to the related WOs upon arrival. * Maintain the integrity of the maintenance storeroom. Install, Test, Repair, and Maintain Plant Production Machinery * Support Equipment, Building, and other systems throughout the site as needed. * Assist with related Upgrades, Improvements, and Assigned Projects as Required 3. Principal Accountabilities * Receives and performs job assignments through work orders, sketches, PM schedules, blueprints, or verbal instructions. Follows applicable codes and regulations on work performed. * Responds to emergency requests for repairs/replacements, including fire system malfunctions which may be reported during off hours. * Troubleshoots malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and remedy the breakdown or malfunction. * Installation of conduits, wire connections to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. * Repair or replace wiring, equipment and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. * Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair. Ensures compliance to code. * Repairs and maintains a variety of production machinery and equipment. * Installs, modifies, and relocates machinery and equipment and in addition to electrical related work, may perform fabrication, welding, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, or other maintenance tasks. * Repairs and modifies building and plant systems as required. * Reads and interprets manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other written installation and repair instructions. * Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance of assigned plant equipment, machinery and systems including gauges, filters, fluid levels, system readings, cooling tower, gas burners, air compressors, chillers, etc. * Requisitions and secures materials, tools, and supplies needed for assignments. * Uses a variety of measuring and testing equipment to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment and systems. * Uses a wide range of shop, hand, and power tools common to the various trades applied. * Maintains specified records, logs, and system readings. * Possesses knowledge of mechanical blueprint reading. * Document work completed on MP2 work orders. * Follow prescribed environmental, safety and health rules. * Complies with sanitation guidelines and good manufacturing practices related to neatness, product cleanliness and personal hygiene. * Other tasks as assigned. 4. Qualifications/Requirements 6.1 Formal Qualifications and Experience * High School Diploma or Equivalent * Combination of technical training equivalent to that generally obtained in a two-year college or apprenticeship program. * Understands, adheres to, and reinforces EHS policies and directives. * Ability to work independently and in concert with Mechanical Technician as well as production co-workers. * Minimum 4 years manufacturing work experience and/or 1 year Maintenance Technician ll, with experience & training to include at least one of the following: o Allen Bradley PLC (SLC-500 and/or PLC5) o Eurytherm Drive (590-690 Series) o Siemens Drives S7 / PLC o Process Control & Instrumentation (temperature, flow, pressure, level, etc.) o Power Distribution (480 VAC & below) o Machine Controls * Can perform all required PM checklists (Lamination, Printing, Slitting, Building Infrastructure) * Skilled in troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuits or system. * Can perform all required ISO Calibration for plant production equipment. 6.2 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Behaviors Job Specific skills and abilities * Knowledge of general maintenance techniques, processes, and procedures for the repair, installation, and modification of a variety of company equipment, systems, and facilities. * Skilled in the use of basic hand, shop and power tools and wide range of test and measuring equipment. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, schematics, and drawings. * Ability to conduct various tests to systems and must know and apply appropriate regulations and standards. * Forklift Certification or ability to obtain same. * Effective oral and written communication skills. * Ability to work independently and make decisions on the most appropriate approach to solving problems. * Effective creative thinking and trouble shooting skills. * Good critical judgement and initiative. * Ability to cooperate well with others to follow safety procedures and prevent injuries.
