Job Summary

The Department of Technology at Illinois State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position in Engineering Technology with a background in Sustainable & Renewable Energy at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to begin August 16, 2025. A successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in the Engineering Technology and Sustainable & Renewable Energy programs; additional preference will be placed on a candidate who can teach project management at the graduate level. The normal teaching load is nine credit hours per semester (3 courses). Develop a focused agenda of scholarship and grantsmanship appropriate to the discipline and disseminate through peer-reviewed venues. Work closely with faculty and students to develop research skills. Work closely with faculty and staff to develop relationships with industry and external funding for program initiatives. Participate in the re-accreditation process and track student learning outcomes assessments.

Required Qualifications

1) Earned doctorate in Engineering, Technology, or closely related field (exceptional A.B.D. candidates will also be considered with an expected completion of their doctoral degree before August 16, 2025.)
2) One or more years of experience in research and/or industry in one of the following areas: electrical applications, renewable energy, energy conversion, technical project management, and other relevant ET/SRE topics.
3) Evidence of conducting research in an area related to Engineering Technology and/or Sustainable & Renewable Energy.
4) For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
