The University of Georgia Facilities Management Division is the largest of seven (7) divisions reportingto the Vice President for Finance and Administration. The exceptional staff of over 900 personnel within the division manage, operate and maintain campus landscapes, buildings and infrastructure to promote the long-term sustainability of the University.

Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM On occasion, employee may be required to perform duties after hours (evenings and weekends) due to emergency situations or planned work.

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, formal training programs, or on-the-job training. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

An employee allocated to this class of work constructs and installs such sheetmetal fixtures as gutter, downspouts, vents, flashings, and ducts. Work assignments are received through oral and written instructions given before and during the progress of a job. Most work is performed under the supervision of appropriate supervisory personnel. Major repairs and completed jobs are subject to review through observation of results and by checking for compliance with specifications and accepted standards of workmanship.

Lays out patterns on metal, form, shapes and fabricates light or heavy-gauge sheet metal to produce such equipment as ventilation and air conditioning ducts, gutter, downspouts, boxes, pails, containers, tanks, roof structures, flashings, smoke pipes, sky lights, kitchen hoods, and tables.

May repair leaks on roofs and replace section of damaged metal roofs. fastens metal flashings on edges of roofs.

Make chicken feeders, rat cages, water troughs, square pans, and other sheetmetal fabrications.

Fabricates items from galvanized steel, stainless steel, cooper, aluminum and other types of sheet metal.

Installs, exhaust fans, air handling units, and heating units.

Respond to calls about leaks during heavy rain.

Perform related work as needed.
