The Regional Maintenance Manager will manage all aircraft maintenance requirements and major alterations for the aircraft based in their region, ensuring all technicians assigned to that region perform their duties with the highest degree of competence and safety in compliance with all applicable 14 CFR regulatory requirements, as well as company policy and procedures. The Regional Maintenance Manager will report directly to the Director of Maintenance. Essential Functions:
- Manages the maintenance organization within the assigned region including all operational bases and the regional maintenance facility
- Ensures Company aircraft are maintained in accordance with the airworthiness standards prescribed by product manufacturer, applicable 14 CFR regulations, and acceptable methods, techniques and standard practices
- Oversees the management of the aircraft maintenance activities and team members, including inspection, repair, overhaul, and modifications of aircraft airframe, engines and propellers
- Prepares and maintains current the scheduled heavy maintenance calendar for their respective region and coordinates spare aircraft with the Operations department
- Generates and reviews the aircraft maintenance forecast coordinating with the Director of Maintenance to ensure all necessary resources are in place so that scheduled maintenance events are accomplished in an efficient manner and aircraft are returned to service as scheduled
- Manages after-hours maintenance support of unscheduled aircraft out-of-service events for their respective Region
- Administers the MEL Management Program ensuring timely repair of deferred items in accordance with the MEL Management Program
- Logs, tracks and updates the Aircraft Out-Of-Service events log on the Company Intranet Portal and ensures the company web-based Aircraft Status Board is maintained with current and accurate aircraft information
- Ensures all aircraft events reportable per the requirement of 14CFR 135.415 and 135.417 are processed in accordance with GMM policy and procedures
- Ensure the spare parts and materials inventory at the regional maintenance facility is maintained at the appropriate levels and in accordance with the policy and procedures of the General Maintenance Manual
- Ensures all company owned and technician owned calibrated tools are calibrated and kept up to date on the company calibrated tool tracking log for the personnel assigned their region
- Ensures the technical publications library at the regional maintenance facility is maintained current and that all technicians have proper access to all web-based technical data needed in the performance of their duties
- Leadership of the hangar environment, ensuring it is operating under conditions that promote efficiency, safety, and compliance with company standards and OSHA Requirements
- Maintaining a close liaison with the Director of Maintenance to provide current status of aircraft and plan of action for any unscheduled out of service events
- Oversees the execution of all duties assigned to subordinates
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the Directors of Maintenance
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
- 10 years' relevant technical experience maintaining turboprop and turbine powered aircraft.
- 5 years' experience in an FAA 14 CFR Part 135 aircraft maintenance technical, management or quality control supporting role.
- Ability to interpret and effectively communicate complex technical data and processes associated with aircraft maintenance and alterations.
- Ability to manage a team of AMTs, effectively building a strong team environment that fosters professional growth of the individual technician and encourages input of ideas for improvement. Management experience required,
- Strong knowledge of 14 CFR regulations and associated guidance material applicable to maintenance and alterations of aircraft operated on a 14 CFR Part 135 air carrier certificate.
- Able to take initiative, creating, implementing, and improving procedures and processes.
- Superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
- Possess excellent organizational, administration, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in aviation management, maintenance or technology or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Valid and current FAA Inspection Authorization.
- 10 years' experience in an FAA 14 CFR Part 135 aircraft maintenance management and/or supervisory role.
- Significant maintenance experience with Beechcraft King Air series and Pilatus PC12 series turboprop aircraft.
- Significant maintenance experience with Bombardier/Learjet light and mid-size jet aircraft.
