Job Description Summary

WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY's Middle East and South Asia Studies (MESAS) Program seeks applications for a tenure track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the Arabic language and culture, beginning July 1, 2025. We seek candidates who have a commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or ABD status) in Arabic linguistics, literature, second-language pedagogy, or a related area. We seek a candidate with native or near-native fluency in Arabic and English, and experience in teaching Arabic language courses of all levels. The candidate will be expected to teach both language and content-based courses, and the teaching load is between four or five courses per year or the equivalent.

  • Teaching evaluations or other evidence of effective student engagement; and
