Shared Services: IS Production Support Team (Full-Time, Day Shift, Hybrid) - Job Summary: The IS Clinical Applications Specialist is responsible for the ongoing design, build, testing, validation and ongoing support of critical clinical application(s) under Application Services. Reviews and validates build content for clinical application teams, including the pharmacy, ambulatory and inpatient applications. Demonstrates timely, effective and efficient troubleshooting of production software, workflow issues and defines mitigation plans and steps for resolution with minimal guidance. Provides clinical validation and support to non-clinical team members when troubleshooting issues. Serves as a liaison to vendors and departments, including finance, nursing, physicians, etc. Works with members of various clinical and operational departments across multiple campuses to meet the needs of the department, develop solutions, or request system enhancements. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Advanced Degree required based on clinical discipline: (1) Master's Degree required or (2), Doctorate Degree (Pharm D) required. Minimum one year of supporting clinical experience required. Minimum two years of experience in related field preferred. Minimum one year EHR build experience required. Minimum one year of Epic experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Requires the use of specified degree and related clinical knowledge to perform clinical validation of system content. These services may be provided for all entities leveraging the LLUH EHR platform. Broad knowledge and understanding of computer hardware, applications, network, and operating systems. Knowledge and understanding of related Information Technology trends. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong knowledge of project management software such as MS Project, Access, and other project management tools. Relate and communicate positively and effectively with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Deal effectively with people and elicit support from other department areas, vendors, and customers. Excellent analytic and documentation skills. Organize technical work; demonstrate excellent planning, problem solving, analysis, and presentation skills; analyze and interpret data, processes and needs based on limited information; make recommendations; manage time effectively and plan and implement objectives effectively. Think critically and work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; compose written material; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Valid Driver's License required at time of hire. Active California Registered Nurse Practitioner license or Active California Registered Pharmacist license required. The LLUH Epic proficiency must be achieved within the 90 days probationary period. Current Epic proficiency and certification preferred.
