POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Drive continuous site EHS and security performance improvement by developing, implementing and training on company EHS policy and procedures. Ensure site EHS compliance through continuous improvement activities such as thorough inspections, audits, corrective actions, and implementing best practices. Works closely with a network of other Corporate EHS professionals and plant department heads as part of the plant leadership team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Serve as EHS representative on the plant leadership team and for external visits and audits.
  • Ensure compliance to local, state, and federal EHS regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain PSM program and compliance for a covered process.
  • Complete routine regulatory reports and filings: UIC, Tier II, TRI, RMP and others; maintain site permits as needed.
  • Ensure EHS systems, procedures, and performance metrics are understood, implemented, and being adhered to.
  • Analyze and evaluate EHS performance. Develop improvement plans to meet or exceed plant and/or corporate goals.
  • Coordinate and conduct plant EHS training and maintain the records.
  • Lead and track incident and injury investigations and resolutions.
  • Provide EHS expertise and support in process reviews and evaluations.
  • Work with waste generators to characterize and qualify their waste for Class 1 disposal through U.S. EPA.
  • Monitor wastewater and solid waste disposal operations for compliance and efficient operation.
  • Other duties as assigned.



REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, etc)
  • 3+ years' experience in the field of EHS
  • 1+ years' experience working in a PSM and/or RMP facility
  • Proficient user of MS Office products
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision are critical.



PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Master's in in a related field (Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, etc)
  • 3+ years' experience working in a PSM and RMP facility
  • 3+ years' experience in heavy industry such as chemical, paper, refining, etc.
  • Underground injection well technology experience
  • Certified wastewater operator
  • EHS related certifications
