Operating Title Adjunct Life Sciences and Agriculture Librarian
Summary of Position
Are you looking for a temporary librarian position in an academic library? Pursuing an MLS and wanting some practical experience? If so, we hope you will apply: https://jobs.usnh.edu/postings/63043 for a part-time temporary Life Sciences and Agriculture adjunct Librarian temporary position (January through May 2025.)

You should have completed at least 15 credits (with a course in the provision of reference services) towards an MLS but you don't have to have completed all requirements to be considered for this opportunity.

Position is 25-30 hours per week at $26 per hour January through May 17, 2025.
This adjunct position provides subject-specific information literacy instruction (both in-person and online) to the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture community (and other colleges as needed) along with relevant research support and instruction activities through individual research consultations, chat reference service and possibly special projects.
This role enhances the library's goal of providing outstanding service to all users and the general recruitment and retention goals of the University, while exhibiting a commitment to the profession of librarianship. We hope you will consider joining us in this role!

Required Qualifications


  • ALA-accredited Master's degree or international equivalent in library or information science; or
  • A current graduate student with at least 15 completed credits in an ALA-accredited program; credit hours to include at least one course in the provision of reference services; or
  • Bachelor's degree with extensive experience in providing reference services to a varied clientele.
  • Knowledge of reference resources and online databases.
  • Ability to effectively engage students in the classroom.
  • Understanding of the delivery of library services.
  • Ability to work both independently and with others.
  • Demonstrated multicultural competence and contribution to a work environment that affirms its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an academic library.
  • Ability to operate with a high level of initiative.
  • Interest in all aspects of academic librarianship and demonstrated flexibility in the work environment.
