EBAD seeks a highly motivated individual for the Production Planner, reporting directly to the Production Manager, Electronics. This position is located in Simsbury, CT.

Responsibilities:

The Production Planner contributes to the successful build and delivery of product to both internal and external customers. The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and/or performing tasks associated with operations execution starting with customer order entry through shipment.

Principal duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Reviews supply and demand within ERP to ensure timely availability of production materials to meet contract requirements.
  • Owns the planning phase of the Production Planning Process ensuring that work is ready to be executed in accordance with the schedule set by the Master Scheduler.
  • Establishes material requirements and requisitions materials to assure on time delivery to production.
  • Coordinates daily with Production Supervisors to explore opportunities to expedite the schedule and countermeasure potential slips.
  • Maintains all upcoming and shipment visual management boards.
  • Facilitates weekly meeting with Program teams to align upcoming work and helps drive down liens preventing work from starting on time.
  • Allocates existing inventory and creates planned shop orders in ERP for procurement of material. Ensures demand is generated properly for all materials.
  • Coordinates with Inventory Specialists for timely release of Shop Order and material kits based upon production demand.
  • Management of product packaging and shipping; creates packing slip, and performs logistical liaison functions.
  • Interfaces with other functions to effectively and efficiently monitor material flow and work prioritization from customer order receipt to project close out.
  • Effectively supports cycle counts and/or physical inventory audits including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation associated with inventory inaccuracies.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement efforts and Kaizen activities.
  • Actively leads, creates and energizes positive change. Initiates investigation and involves the key personnel required to resolve problems that may impact scheduled shipments.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in Materials Management, Logistics, and Planning
  • Ability to view at a high level the overall potential risks and impacts within the organization based on material planning decisions
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management
  • Understanding of configuration management, supply chain, material control, manufacturing, and shipping processes
  • Experience with Import/Export requirements and international shipping
  • Good working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Ability to interpret and understand work orders as well as mechanical, technical, and electronic drawings, manuals, and other related documentation
  • Ability to motivate people, particularly in supply chain and materials management environment
  • LEAN Manufacturing concept implementation experience preferred
