This Instructional Aide position is located at the Cedar Crest Hospital in Belton, Texas. This position will instructionally support students who are temporarily residing at the hospital and who are concurrently attending school and receiving mental health treatment services. The current class size is small at 12 or fewer students. This 10 months/year 194 days position is from August 1st to May 31. The University of Texas-University Charter School (UT-UCS) is a public charter school and follows all state and federal regulations for public school services. UT-UCS is part of the University of Texas at Austin's College of Education. A candidate for this position will need to have a Level III Educational Aide certification or be willing to complete within the first 90 days of employment. PurposeAssist classroom teacher with instruction and supervision of students. Responsibilities
Educational Aide III Certification. Ability to work well with children. Ability to maintain data on students. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. General knowledge of office equipment. High School Diploma or GED equivalency. Copy of high school diploma and OFFICIAL college transcripts from each college attended will be required upon employment. Educational Aide III Certificate from the State Board for Educator Certification within 90 days of employment. All positions at the university are security sensitive and a background check will be conducted on all new applicants hired. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred QualificationsAt least two years of experience working with special needs students. Salary Range$31,040+ per year, depending on qualifications Working ConditionsSchool classrooms within a residential treatment facility.
