JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Economics at The Pennsylvania State University at University Park, PA, USA, seeks to fill multiple teaching faculty positions.

Candidates must be capable of teaching in a large class environment and effectively teach at both introductory and intermediate levels in macro, micro, and/or econometrics. Assistant/Associate Teaching Professors teach a 3/3 load and work as part of a team of instructors tasked with teaching most of the introductory and intermediate-level courses in the Department. These are non-tenure-track, term appointments, and potentially renewable.

A teaching record of accomplishment is expected, but less seasoned applicants will be considered, especially new Ph.D.s who have taught large classes in their graduate careers.

Applicants must apply through Penn State's Job Posting Board and upload the following application materials electronically: a curriculum vitae and a list of three references with contact information. Any questions or concerns with the online application can be directed to Michelle Young, Administrative Assistant to the Department, at muu53@psu.edu.

These positions will be filled at the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor. A Ph.D. in Economics or a related field is required by the appointment date. Rank and length of term are determined by education and experience.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

In addition, successful candidates must either demonstrate a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they envision doing so, given the opportunity.

The College of the Liberal Arts is committed to offering professional growth and promotional opportunities for non-tenure-line faculty appointments.Information on faculty ranks and progression can be found at https://policy.psu.edu/policies/ac21.
