REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Concession Attendant- Part Time 19 at Tradewinds Park & Stables.
This Job Announcement will remain open until a sufficient number of applications are received.
General Description

The purpose of this class within the organization is to prepare/sell food and/or rent a variety of recreation-oriented equipment at an assigned park or facility.

Works under close to general supervision according to set procedures, but determines how or when to complete tasks.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires three (3) months of concession or point of sale experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
None.
Preferences:
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Information:
All candidates must complete an extensive ten (10) year work history verification and criminal background check which includes post-offer physical examination, clearing of DCF's Affidavit of Good Moral Character (https://www.myflfamilies.com/service-programs/background-screening/docs/DCF%20AGMC.pdf).


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.

Serves the public at the facility by providing customer service, answering questions regarding shelters and rentals, etc.; moves and handles various types of recreation equipment.

Serves customers and prepares food.

Collects fees from public, operates cash register utilizing point of sale software, counts money and balances cash drawers.

Takes inventory of and orders supplies, including food, drinks and kitchen supplies as needed in food concession.

Answers phone inquiries and gives information to the public.

Collects waivers and enters them in the system.

Checks web sales and calls customers to review rentals.

Files daily paperwork.

Sells parks Passports and Prepaid Gate Passes.

Performs maintenance/cleaning of the concession food areas for cleanliness, and prepares for inspections by State Health Department. Cleans office areas and related equipment.

Performs related work as assigned.

Physical Demands

Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, with adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of electronic office equipment within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.

Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment)

Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.

Involves routine and frequent exposure to extreme heat and/or cold; wet or humid conditions.
