Office of Graduate Education

Job Description

  • Provide administrative support to the Graduate Council and Graduate Faculty
  • Act as a liaison between both groups and Graduate Education
  • Understand and explain complex information as outlined in the Graduate Faculty Rules and Regulations to various faculty and staff on campus
  • Generate and send imperative communications to faculty/administrators on behalf of the Graduate Faculty president
  • Coordinate and facilitate all committee involvement
  • Plan and organize the outstanding graduate faculty and staff award process.
  • Interpret graduate rules outlined in the graduate catalog and Policy Memo II-20 to students, advisors, faculty, and staff
  • Serve as subject matter expert for graduate education information
  • Build degree audits for each student, providing a resource/tool for the campus community to monitor a student's individual degree progress
  • Review degree audits to help ensure students meet the rules and regulations outlined in the Graduate Catalog (based on their specific catalog year) and Policy Memo II-20 and assist with maintaining appropriate time to degree
  • Evaluate plans of graduate study against university-established criteria and process all graduate forms;Approve/deny final degree audits for graduating students.
  • Regularly consult faculty and staff regarding student progress and program guidelines - explain complex university requirements; analyze potential solutions and provide input and recommendations regarding specific student situations
  • Check the format of theses/dissertations before accepting the final copy.
  • Evaluate office practices and university policies for efficiency to increase productivity and compliance while maintaining the highest level of student success; gather feedback from various stakeholders regarding university rules and policies
  • Work collaboratively with peers to develop policies and procedure changes for submission to the graduate faculty and graduate council for approval and adoption
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $21.42-$21.65 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
