Senior Accountant/Controller

The Senior Accountant/Controller is a key financial leader responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's financial activities. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial records and supports strategic decision-making by providing vital financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Oversee cash management, monitor cash balances, and develop accurate cash forecasts.
  • Lead, plan, and coordinate all accounting operations.
  • Prepare comprehensive internal and external financial statements.
  • Evaluate current accounting practices, recommend process improvements, and implement new systems for increased efficiency.
  • Track and assess business performance metrics to drive financial success.
  • Compile, analyze, and present monthly financial reports.
  • Develop and manage monthly and annual budgets/forecasts.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable operations.
  • Manage payroll processes and ensure accurate, timely payroll completion.
  • Ensure timely completion of monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Document and maintain accounting procedures, covering reconciliations, month-end closing, billing, collections, payments, and payroll.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Process (WIP) reports and billings.
  • Contribute to the company's strategic planning efforts.
  • Provide financial data and insights to support executive decision-making.


Qualifications:



  • Experience in the construction industry with a strong understanding of construction-specific accounting principles, regulations, and financial management practices.
  • Expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial and construction management software (Work-in-Process software and Progress Billing experience preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate financial data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong active listening abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
