Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose |
The Program Coordinator provides support to the Assistant Director with the program operations and monitoring and ensuring compliance with the program grant requirements.
This is a renewable eleven (11) month position funded by a grant. |
Essential Functions |
- Supports the Assistant Director by coordinating daily operations, and monitoring program activities to ensure compliance with grant requirements with Stockton Unified School District.
- Provides oversight, direction and support to student and temporary casual employees involved in the program to ensure satisfactory attendance, performance and problem solving.
- Creates and monitors schedules.
- Assigns and reviews work.
- Substitutes as an after school program staff when necessary.
- Communicates with the Assistant Director as needed daily, weekly and monthly on program operations through both written and verbal means.
- Assist the Program Director in determining staffing for site locations, hiring and placement, training and coaching student and temporary casual employees.
- Assists in payroll, monitoring program budget and other administrative duties.
- Composes and prepares letters, correspondence, special reports, technical papers and presentations.
- Attends meeting and takes minutes for review and/or distribution.
- Liaison between University of the Pacific and Stockton Unified School District.
- Assists in recruitment of student and temporary casual employees.
- Monitors office equipment, facilities and duplicating services ensuring all are operational and have no need of repair. Orders unit's supplies, repair of equipment and facilities when needed or requested.
- Responds to unit personnel on general inquiries and provides information to those the unit serves.
- Maintains a variety of department records both electronically and manually including but not limited to class enrollments, student records and areas of compliance.
- Recommends new procedures for streamlining administrative duties or office functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Associate's Degree or sixty (60) units of completed post-secondary high school education coursework.
- Three (3) years of experience in educational tutoring or after school programs.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Excellent organizational, time management skills and strong problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer office software including word-processing, spreadsheet applications and mail merge functions. PowerPoint or similar programs highly desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, departments, and others.
- Excellent phone & customer service skills, office organization, and records management skills.
- Familiarity with basic budget and bookkeeping procedures.
- Web content management desired.
- Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment. Work performed during standard business hours and may include weekends to meet business needs. Light travel as needed to different site locations.
Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University's insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record. |
Hiring Range |
$18.09 to $25.94 per hour We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. |
