We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Expert IT Systems within our IT Subsurface - Reservoir Management and Reserves group based in Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide support in installing, integrating, monitoring, and maintaining technical applications related to reservoir management and reserves.
  • Identify and troubleshoot the technical applications issues and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and vendors to develop effective solutions.
  • Provide support to end-users, helping them resolve application-related issues.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and performance.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to applications and processes.
  • Share knowledge and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Utilize cloud platforms such as AWS to optimize and support scalable and highly available cloud-based applications.
  • Adhere to industry and organizational security standards and compliance requirements.
  • Support and maintain effective integrated solutions to enhance application functionality and performance.
  • Work closely with other IT teams to resolve complex issues and ensure the overall stability and performance of applications.
  • Work closely with end-users to solve operations and engineering related problems though software and IT best practices.
  • Automate manual processes through scripting to streamline support processes and tasks.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or any related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in Information Technology applications and systems, though fresh graduates with adequate experience and/or previous IT internship will be considered.
  • Good applications support experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Have experience in Linux and Linux-based application support.
  • Hands-on experience in Oracle and/or MS SQL with advanced SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of SCCM packaging and distribution of applications.
  • Knowledge of application delivery via Citrix and/or VDI.
  • Conceptual knowledge of remote visualization technology like TAW, NICE or TGX.
  • Experience in any modern programming languages, such as Python and C#.
  • Ability to provide ongoing updates and training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks in a dynamic and growing environment.
  • Ability to stay updated with and adapt to the latest technologies and best practices. Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment



Desired Qualifications:



  • Oil and Gas industry experience.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell and Python.
  • Hands-on experience in Linux shell scripting like bash, csh, or bourne shell.
  • Knowledge of reservoir management and reserves processes.
  • Experience in Reservoir Simulation clusters.
  • Knowledge of Cloud computing and HPC.
