Under general direction of CAO, this position works in an independent manner, responsible for management and supervision of the BFTV Cluster business unit, which includes pre/post-award and fiscal management, purchasing, inventory, and facilities. Responsible for highly complex technical financial services for a variety of faculty research projects and departmental finances, which include intramural and extramural funds; state and federal contracts/grants; income/recharge, gift, and endowment accounts. Performs budgetary analysis; reporting and long-range, strategic planning; grant management and accounting; and other related fiscal and management duties. Interprets and applies university regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to financial administration, responsible for financial management, reporting and control of all faculty funding and OMB/A-21 federal compliancy issues. Department Overview BFTV is a large administrative cluster, providing administrative and technical support for teaching, research, and outreach to the faculty, staff, and students of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Food Science and Technology, and Viticulture & Enology within the two colleges of CA&ES and COE. These departments and the Cluster have a combined estimated annual operating budget for teaching, research, outreach, and support of $123MM, composed of state, federal, and extramural funds, endowments, gifts, and sales income. The Cluster supports 60 faculty, 110 staff, 140 other academic titles and approximately 600 combined undergraduate and graduate students annually. Position Information
