Position Summary The Classroom to Career Hub (C2 Hub) at MSU Denver connects students and employers, facilitating real-world learning experiences and upskilling homegrown talent for Colorado's workforce pipeline. More than a traditional career center, the C2 Hub innovatively strengthens students' academic and professional acumen through strategic and robust partnerships with local industries and communities to ensure an equitable and prosperous future for all Coloradans. Within the C2 Hub, the Peer Mentoring Program supports undergraduate students in two ways. The Career Peer Mentor Program connects students to career resources based on where students are in the career planning process. The First-Year Student Support Program engages new MSU Denver students and helps them navigate college. Both programs help connect students to campus resources, provide academic success strategies, and help students build community while exploring career opportunities. The plays an important role in the development of this large-scale, comprehensive peer-mentoring program that seeks to support the development of all MSU Denver students. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Peer Mentoring, the Specialist will provide leadership and supervision to the student peer mentors and collaborate with key stakeholders to expand the program under The Classroom to Career Hub. The Program Specialist supports the Assistant Director in serving as a liaison with academic units, academic advising, faculty, and staff to market, outreach, and develop campus partnerships who will champion the peer-mentoring program. The Peer Mentoring Specialist markets, recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates student staff hired in the Peer Mentoring Program. Peer Mentoring student staff develop and maintain peer-to-peer relationships, connect students to campus resources to support academic and career success. The Career Peer Mentor position provides personalized guidance to students on their caseload through outreach support, 1:1 meetings, and connecting students to campus through the navigating of resources and events. The Specialist position will contribute to the development of a peer mentoring curriculum and practices that are focused on utilizing best practices and relevant theory for retaining students on MSU Denver's diverse-urban commuter campus. Salary for Announcement The minimum of the pay range for this position is $41,200. We anticipate the qualified candidate to be placed between $47,300 - $61,800. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. Additionally, Student Affairs has committed to tying our salaries to an understanding of a living wage. To that end, we will not pay less than $47,300. The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
