Department Information

Within this setting, the Cardiovascular Interventional Science program is one of five concentrations leading to the Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science Degree and one of ten accredited programs in the Department of Clinical Sciences. As part of a large department, the Cardiovascular Interventional Science program supports the mission of the Waters College to prepare future health professionals through academic excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration while advancing knowledge through scholarship and serving culturally diverse communities. The Cardiovascular Interventional Science program is the only programmatically accredited baccalaureate level program in the United States.

Job Summary

Reporting to the department chair, the program coordinator for Cardiovascular Interventional Science must assure achievement of the program's goals and outcomes, and is responsible for all aspects of the program, including the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the program. The Program Coordinator must provide supervision, administration and coordination of instructional staff in the academic and clinical phases of the educational program. Classroom, online, and laboratory teaching of cardiovascular interventional science content is required. Additional courses related to other radiologic science disciplines or other healthcare topics may also be assigned to meet student needs. Service requirements include committee assignments and presence at recruiting activities on and off campus. Ongoing professional development is also required. The position is a fiscal year (12 month), non-tenure track, open rank appointment.



Required Qualifications

Earned master's degree, by July 1, 2025

Must have active Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential.

Must have two years hands-on experience in invasive cardiology (cardiac catheterization laboratory).

Willingness to acquire American Heart Association basic and advanced life support (BLS and ACLS) certification.

Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.

Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.

Applicants with an earned master's degree will be appointed as a lecturer.

For an appointment as non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor the applicant must have an earned doctoral degree.

For the rank of non-tenure track clinical associate professor, the applicant must have an earned doctoral degree and a minimum of 5 years full-time college/university teaching experience at the assistant professor level along with a record of service with publications and/or presentations in professional venues.

Preferred Qualifications

Active American Heart Association basic and advanced life support (BLS and ACLS) certification.

Three or more years hands-on experience in invasive cardiology (cardiac catheterization laboratory).

At least one-year hands-on experience in peripheral vascular procedures.

Experience in neurovascular interventional procedures, or the electrophysiology laboratory.

Previous experience as a program director, clinical coordinator, or instructor in an accredited Program.

The academic transcript will have evidence of academic course credit in imaging, radiation protection, and radiobiology.

American Registry in Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) credentials: RT(R), RT(CI), RT(VI)

Proficiency with design and instruction for online courses.

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with experience.
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
