Clark College is currently accepting applications for a Cashier 3 - McClaskey Culinary Institute (MCI) Service Lead position that will collaborate with our Professional Baking and Pastry Arts and Cuisine Management programs to ensure excellent service delivery and management of our busy food court. Duties for this position will include performing lead cashiering and fiscal duties as well as, supervision and training of part-time staff. This position is expected to support the institutional mission and goals, foremost being diversity, equity and inclusion, and student success and retention.
This is an 80%-time classified position working 32 hour per week, cyclic position that works while college courses are in session (summer, fall, winter and spring), with time off over the quarter breaks. Classes generally run Monday - Thursday. Renewal of this position is contingent upon reallocation of state funding.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensures internal controls and segregation of duties at all times.
- Conducts daily cash counts/deposits; debit/credit transmittals; safe counts; bank coin and cash orders.
- Counts and balances daily cash receipts, addressing over/short issues as needed.
- Supervise, train, and develop schedules for part-time cashiers, retail clerks and student workers.
- Learn, program, and update the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
- High school graduation or equivalent AND eighteen months of fiscally-related work such as bank teller or retail salesclerk, OR Equivalent education/experience.
- Washington State Food Handler's Card
- Knowledge of cashiering and bookkeeping procedures involving receipt of funds, adjusting and transferring funds, and recording transactions.
- Experience supervising others.
- Vaccination requirement: Per Washington State Proclamation 21-14.1: college employees must be fully vaccinated. Your COVID-19 vaccine status must be validated by the Human Resources office prior to the commencement of work. - The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.

SALARY/BENEFITS:
Starting Salary: $2,261.60/month (80% of $2,827) Range: 34 Code: 00149G
