JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Reporting to the Director of Student Affairs, the Coordinator for the Center for Social Impact (CSI) at Penn State Brandywine plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the Center, which creates pathways for students to become socially responsible leaders and engaged citizens who are prepared and motivated to create positive change in the world.

The Center engages students in non-profit internships, community-based learning assignments, volunteer opportunities with community partners, and campus civic engagement events.

Job Duties

The position involves several key responsibilities:

  • Civic Engagement: facilitating volunteer opportunities and community partnerships to enhance students' practical experiences and involvement. The Coordinator works closely with student interns to connect them with meaningful community service and professional development opportunities.

  • Community Development: Fostering a sense of belonging and connecting with the campus and local communities.

  • Equity & Human Rights: Creating pathways to success in an equitable environment through programs and partnerships like the Campus Garden and Food Pantry.

This opening is part-time, typically up to 24 hours per week during the Fall and Spring Semesters and includes some evening and weekend hours. This opening is funded for one year with an excellent possibility of refunding for subsequent periods.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Employment with the University for this job will require successful completion of the Pennsylvania (PA) Publicly Available Clearances: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and the FBI Criminal History Background Check.

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.

  • Previous experience in higher education is a plus.

  • The successful candidate will communicate effectively and excel at organization and managing multiple priorities.

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds and experiences is critical to the success of this role.
