Sentara Medical Group has a full-time position for a NP/PA to join Sentara Family Medicine - Thunder Road located in Elizabeth City, NC. With seamless access to specialists and other healthcare services, our innovative team treats a diverse population in this well-supported clinic. Position Highlights:

  • Monday - Friday with 4 hours of dedicated admin time a week
  • 8:00 - 5:00p; hours are flexible
  • Provide routine care, annual wellness visits, pre-ops, etc. for ages 5 and up
  • Call 1:14 weeks; includes a 24/7 nurse triage taking first call in evenings and weekends

Requirements for this position include Virginia-licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, and a current, unrestricted DEA license. Candidates must have the ability to provide quality, comprehensive, continuity of medical care in a compassionate manner with minimum supervision.

Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for the provision of health care services to individuals, families, and/or groups who receive their care under the auspices of medical group. Health care services include conducting health assessments, prescribing/providing treatments/interventions, promoting health, and providing disease prevention and management. Health care services are provided under the direction and supervision of assigned primary care physician (collaborative agreement). The NP is expected to participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, engage in member of the team activities, and use resources (human and material) appropriately.

Nurse Practitioner experience preferred. The NP maintains continuing education credits of as prescribed by licensing body and the medical group and maintains prescriptive authority; acquires special clinical competencies as required by the group; participates in quality assurance and utilization management activities; and assists with risk management functions.

Qualifications:

MLD - Master's Level Degree: Nurse Practitioner (Required) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Authorization to Prescribe License - Certification - North Carolina, Authorization to Prescribe License - Certification - Other/National, Authorization to Prescribe License - Certification - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP), Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Certification - Other/National, Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Nursing License - North Carolina, Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Nursing License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP), Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - North Carolina, Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP), Registered Nurse License (RN) - Nursing License - Compact/Multi-State License Related experience
