Clinical Instructor and Co-Chief Resident

It is the mission of the Department of Pediatrics, East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, to provide exemplary medical education/training of physicians in pediatric medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, it is the mission of the department to provide model comprehensive primary and consultative subspecialty care to children of eastern North Carolina, to advance scientific knowledge through basic and clinical research, and to provide continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region.

The Department of Pediatrics at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC is seeking two full-time BE/BC general pediatric physicians for a one-year term appointment at the title of Clinical Instructor and Co-Chief Resident for the Pediatric Residency Program.

These positions include administrative duties for the residency program, teaching of medical students and residents, and the provision of clinical care in several general pediatric settings including the ward, newborn nursery, general acute care, and outreach clinics.

Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the UNC Optional Retirement Program ( ORP) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b. 457). This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System ( TSERS).
