How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Troubleshoot, Repair, Install, and perform maintenance on cutting systems and products distributed by the Company. The position will perform work at customer sites. The individual selected must be able to travel overnight at a minimum of 70% - 50% of the time during the first 6 (six) months of employment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and make necessary repairs and/or perform routine maintenance on cutting machines.
Related products include: OEM Products such as Hypertherm plasma systems, Lincoln plasma systems, Thermal Dynamics plasma systems, and ESAB plasma systems. Cutting Machine OEM Manufactured units will include: Koike, Machitech, ESAB, Messer, C&G, Lincoln, Alltra, and other cutting machine types. CNC Controls such as Hypertherm Automation CNC, Lincoln/Burny CNC, Messer Global CNC, and other various legacy CNC Controllers. Software's such as Hypertherm Pronest Nesting Software, SigmaNest Nesting Software, and Flashcut CNC software suites. Drive systems such as Bosch-Rexroth, Yaskawa, and Indramat, as well as other DC and AC Servo systems.
- Ability to represent the Company to our customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- This candidate will have the skills to service all types of welding equipment, CNC cutting systems and their components.
- Will maintain company provided diagnostic equipment, tools and other equipment in clean, good working condition and within manufacturer's recommendations Calibrations on equipment are kept in date.
- Communicates job status, daily activities and unsafe conditions of equipment and at the job site through the Airgas online tech website at all stages of the repair process.
- Prior to leaving a job area, check software for other calls, emergencies, etc.
- Follow Airgas safety procedures and attend monthly safety meetings.
- Must be able to wear protective equipment as required.
- Must be able to use trade type tools or hand tools.
- Must maintain a valid MVR within the company's requirements.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned. Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions
- Required to follow any other reasonable instructions and perform any other duties, as may be required by their supervisor.
- Work safely and meet the requirements of all safety procedures and rules as prescribed by the Company, as well as all local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Partners with Account Managers and closely with the Weld Process Specialists to gain business, including joining Account Manager on calls to customers to inquire about PM programs, cutting automation, and machine upgrades and utilizing online learning courses through various vendors.
- Assist in providing training for new technicians.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 2 years of general electrical, mechanical, and/or electronic experience/or training or equivalent.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
- Valid state driver's license
- Vendor/Manufacturer School Certificates of Training - preferred
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Ability to plan a logical approach to troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
- Ability to work in DOS and windows based computer systems.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to perform work during prolonged standing 8 or more hours; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion also required.
- Ability to perform work during occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and finger activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor's instructions. Travel of 50-80% for automation techs.
- Overnight stays required.
