RHD Connecticut (CT) is looking for Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in the area of Bridgeport, Trumbull, Stratford, North Branford, and Monroe. There are currently Full-Time, Part-Time and Per Diem positions available. The DSP provides assistance and guidance for the consumers in their daily activities, daily programs, and health and safety skills. Responsibilities/Duties
- Assist and teach people with developmental disabilities in a supportive and therapeutic environment, which maintains health and safety while fostering growth and rehabilitation
- Implement individual programming and behavior support plans as written
- Engage individuals in community job development skills as well as recreational opportunities
- Ensure all opportunities afford each individual a greater sense of self, increased independence, heightened self-esteem and an overall positive experience
Required Experience
- Previous experience is preferred, but not required
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required
- Connecticut driver's license preferred
Program Summary
RHD Connecticut provides residential community living arrangements, day services, and individual rehabilitative supports to people who have developmental disabilities in the West and South regions in Connecticut. Currently RHD CT operates 10 CLAs, Continuous Residential Support programs and supports individuals who reside in apartments in the community.
