The Industrial Engineering department is seeking a knowledgeable, organized, and adept professional to join its front office staff.

The Industrial Engineering (I.E.) Program Assistant will provide administrative support to the department's human resources/operations manager, primarily within areas related to human resources (H.R.) and the fiscal processes that accompany H.R. Tasks will include hiring and onboarding graduate assistants and hourly/undergraduate employees; payroll and costing allocations; and travel for the graduate assistants and hourly employees of the I.E. department. Additionally, the employee will assist the operations manager with tasks related to alumni relations and the I.E. scholarship program, which awards over $100,000 in scholarships to I.E. students each academic year.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious, collaborative working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, accounting, human resources, finance, public administration, higher education, or related field



  • At least one year of experience in program administration, accounting, human resources, higher education, or related field





Applicable equivalencies may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:




  • Master's degree in business, accounting, human resources, finance, public administration, higher education, or related field



  • Experience working with University of Arkansas programs such as Workday, UAConnect/PeopleSoft, Slate, etc.



  • Two or more years of experience in program administration, accounting, human resources, higher education, or related field



  • Administrative experience with scholarship, grant, and/or research programs
