Job Summary
The Department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University is seeking candidates for a Research Assistant position to provide professional level assistance with ongoing research programs.

This is a three year limited term appointment. Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds.

Essential Functions
Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist researchers with developing data collection protocols and maintaining sensors at various locations at Auburn University, poultry industries, and forest products industries.
  • Fabricate, assemble, calibrate, troubleshoot, install and operate specialized and prototype equipment such as sensors and instrumentation when applicable.
  • Analyze data from sensors installed on multiple equipment and buildings.
  • Conduct on-sites visits to manage sensors and relationships between Auburn University Rural Partnership Initiative project and collaborative industries.
  • Assist with implementation of the Ag Technology Certificate program.
  • Assist project manager with implementation of a NIFA funded project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications
Level I: Bachelor's degree in any STEM discipline.

Valid driver's license
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications


Minimum Skills and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, demonstrated technical excellence, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Minimum Technology Skills
Knowledge of software and ability to interpret output/results of data sets.
Minimum License and Certifications
Valid driver's license required.
