Summary: The Senior Payroll System Analyst reports to the Manager Payroll Systems. Under general supervision functions as liaison between payroll and various internal and external customers to address complex Brown University Health-wide projects. Collaborates with human resources management team and other key users to assess information needs and system requirements provide recommendations regarding system capabilities and to develop solutions to meet current and anticipated business needs. Researches and reconciles complex business and/or system problems. Creates complex detailed reports related to Brown University Health payroll data. Participates in or leads related teams in all phases of project management as appropriate. Responsibilities: Partners with HR Benefits/Retirement Compensation and Payroll leaders and their customers to analyze work flows design and improve processes and leverage the technology available. Identifies and understands issues problems and opportunities. Works with internal and external department stakeholders and appropriate management to select and implement a course of action or develop an appropriate solution. Serves as a key liaison with vendors and other stakeholders. Maintains system tables rules etc. in the UKG/Kronos Workforce Dimensions application. Consultants with compensation leaders and analysts to determine appropriate use of pay rule and rates. Collaborates with IS and consultants on complex rules change and other time and attendance projects. Documents and communicates business and compliance requirements to ensure consultants understanding; test changes; recommends approvals to payroll leadership. Participates in testing of ADP Enterprise v6 upgrades patches changes to interfaces and/or customizations. Creates and executes test scenarios documents testing errors and retesting of errors. May create business requirement documentation for customizations of payroll systems; review technical specification documents and recommend approvals or changes to payroll leadership. Writes maintains and supports a variety of report or queries using appropriate reporting tools such as ADP Reporter and Business Objects. Assists in development of standard reports for ongoing customer service needs. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data. Develops user procedures guideline and documentation. May train new system users Researches and resolves problems unexpected results and process flaws. Recommends solutions or alternative methods to meet requirements. Uses project management skills to support project timelines and goals. May provide overall project management for given initiatives. Recommends process/customer service improvements innovative solutions and/or policy changes to appropriate leadership for approval prior to implementation. Performs other duties as assigned. Other information: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor*s Degree in computer science business or related field or equivalent work experience. Experience with ADP Enterprise ADP Payroll Engine (AutoPay) and UKG Workforce Dimensions preferred. Experience with ADPR and Business Objects or similar reporting tool is required. Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access are required. Project Management skills preferred. EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of HRIS or HR generalist or specialist experience. One to two years of project management experience. System implementation experience. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Normal office conditions with frequent use of personal computer. Work will be performed remotely with occasional in office days (remote hours 90 to 95% of time). INDEPENDENT ACTION: Incumbent functions independently within a broad scope of department policies and practices; generally refers specific problems to Manager Payroll Systems only where clarification of departmental policies and procedures may be required.
