Short Description The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator is an RN who facilitates obtaining the program requirements necessary for the American College of Surgeons Level I Adult Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center verification/reverification through identification of issues, finding solutions, and collaborating to affect change. The PI Coordinator uses advanced skills in quality assessment to perform comprehensive quality of care and service audits that develop validated care standards, data repositories and outcome measurements related to trauma patient care. Collects and analyzes bench marking data, focus studies and clinical indicators. Ensures loop closure, prepares reports, presents outcomes, and participates in organizational-wide continuous improvement projects as it relates to the Trauma Performance and Patient Safety program Major Responsibilities
* Oversee and support the written Trauma PIPS plan. This will include the development of quality indicators, complications, and other tracking/trending.
* Demonstrates an understanding of trauma surgery procedures and trauma patient care including standards of care as well as potential injury complications
