Job Description

The Manager in Asset Management collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to optimize the single-family rental home portfolio. Key responsibilities include managing the dispositions workflow, overseeing the SFR disposition pipeline, tracking KPIs, executing hold/sell decisions, and supporting the Asset Management team's objectives. This role involves close coordination with the asset management, investment, operations, development, and accounting/corporate finance teams. The position is based in the Tustin, California office.
  • Collaborate with asset management team to enhance portfolio returns through property and portfolio analysis
  • Review and produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to measure KPIs and identify performance enhancement opportunities
  • Oversee the sale of SFR portfolios (100+ homes per transaction), managing buyer due diligence, value analysis, contract timelines, inspections, broker relations, resident coordination, and escrow processes
  • Work with the financing team and transaction coordinators to facilitate loan payoffs and collaborate with external servicers on debt facilities
  • Analyze portfolio performance to inform hold/sell recommendations and monitor the sales pipeline
  • Lead cross-departmental initiatives and represent the asset management team in a professional manner
  • Regularly review property valuations, rental rates, make-ready scopes, and capex costs
  • Produce and analyze detailed financial reports for each market/community, comparing against budgets and market indices
  • Assist in drafting and implementing strategic business plans, including quarterly portfolio valuations
  • Occasional travel (approximately 10%) to market locations may be required

IDEAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate, multi-family or single-family financial analysis, and/or asset management
  • Ability to analyze and make strategic decisions based on location, value, size, performance history, cash flows, and capex to determine valuations and rental rates
  • Understanding of real estate valuation methods and analysis metrics to assess success and risks
  • Exceptional analytical skills to identify data outliers for process improvement
  • Proficiency in MS Windows, Excel, and Word; Yardi experience is a plus
  • Strong team player with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Capable of independently identifying and solving key business problems
  • Comfortable creating financial analyses and PowerPoint presentations to support findings
  • Commitment to the organization's ethics and values, fostering teamwork
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities

Salary Range

Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.

$105,330.00 - $175,550.00
